Shakespeare, a 10K, and a reunion! All in one weekend!

Hey! I'm here at the Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City! I drove down with Emily and joined my parents and aunts and uncles to watch 'Much ado about Nothing'! It was really good...hilarious! I now want to rent the movie and watch it again, it's been years!

Lindsay, Emily, and I ran in the Pioneer Day, Deseret News 10K! Overall I came in 1231! Sweet! And in my age group, 81st! Yet I was most excited about my time, 55:52.2! The route was nice, mostly downhill, and my heart celebrated when I saw the clock was under an hour as I came in.

The Hardy Family Reunion, July 22-24th, 2010!

My dad surprised everyone with the supplies to build water bottle rockets! This is Team Awesome! Neal nicknamed it "Mr. T...I pity the fool"! Whatever, he is so funny!

This is Team Big Bird! Big Bird is the nickname for my Grandma Hardy, not sure why, but as long as I know, we've called her that! This one flew pretty well!

And this one was Team Henry! Henry is Jeff's (in orange) nickname! It also did very well!

After dinner, we sat around the fire and retold stories about Grandma and Grandpa. I love how I captured this picture of Grandpa and Grandma laughing!

And to end the night, my mom had a letter Grandpa's mother had written to his brother who was serving a mission at the time. The letter was written in 1937 and told what the family was up to and a few cool things. She mentioned Amelia Earhart and how she had gone missing in the Pacific. Wow, it was cool to read their experiences. Journals really are important, this is kind of mine! The reunion was fun, great to see everyone, and spend time with the family! I love them!

I love watching the Tour de France! I've never really watched it before, but I am now! It started this year on July 3 and goes through July 25! It is just amazing to watch these guys bike up the hills, cover hundreds of miles day after day, and still have energy to sprint to the finish. A big part of why I love watching the tour is that I am able to see the countryside of France! I will get there someday!

Go USA!!! Lance Armstrong, winner of the Tour de France from '99-'05, represents the USA with team RadioShack! He hasn't had a great tour so far, but he's sticking it out to finish. It's an honor to finish, given the crazy, tough terrain of the race!

Have you read the Hunger Games? It is pretty addicting, I recommend the series! The third book comes out August 24th! Be there...midnight! I will have plenty of reading material for the next few months!

Ok...you're probably thinking how random this is, but this is a shout out to Chantel, Reed, and Norah! Thank you for introducing me to Chocolate Chex cereal! I have finally found it here in a few grocery stores in SLC! It is the gluten free kind, but nonetheless, it still tastes the same to me! I love this stuff! It's like muddy buddies, but with milk!

Camping & Mountain Biking in Moab, UT

Delicate Arch...what a symbol for Utah! It is simply breathtaking and beautiful! I haven't been down to Moab in about 5 years, so my roommate Lindsay and I decided to get a group together and head down. We had a blast! I took my bike down, Lindsay rented one, and we hit the slickrock! No, we didn't actually do the "slickrock" trail, but that will be my next goal.

My new REI Camp Dome 4 tent! I love it! We arrived in Moab about midnight on Thursday, and without setting it up ever before, we did it! It's roomy and easy to set up!

Poison Spider Bicycles! Lindsay rented her $2300 bike from here. It was pretty cool, it had rear suspension/shocks that you could turn on/off. I came to find out that my bike doesn't, which I figured since it didn't cost nearly that much. It's also called a "hardtail" mountain bike because of its lack of rear shocks. I love my bike!

Me and the bikes, getting ready to hit the trails! Do you like my bandana? I discovered how much I loved wearing it while we were camping! And the best part is that I got it for free from the Race for the Cure 5k I ran in May!

We "Rockin' Aced" this trail on Friday! Rockin' A was a looped trail off of the Bar M trail! Lindsay, her friend Tim, and I set out and had a blast! But what's mountain biking without a few bruises, scraps, and falls! Linds and I have a few battle scars, but it shows character...right? :) The trail was pretty intense, but we came and we conquered!

Arches National Park! On Friday we hiked out to the North and South Windows and Double Arch. We also saw Balanced Rock, the Three Gossips (or as Lindsay calls them, the Three Wiseman), the Tower of Babel, Landscape Arch, and Delicate Arch.

Now this rock formation is what I like to call...James Christensen in Moab! If you don't know, he's an amazing artist who has a very interesting style. This rock reminds me of the troll looking creatures he depicts.

Double Arch! I loved how the sunlight shined in through all three areas. We hiked up and just enjoyed the peaceful afternoon under the left arch.

Balanced Rock! It is so amazing that it just sits there with so much weight!

Landscape Arch, amazing! In Sept 1991, part of the arch broke off. Now it is left very thin. I hope weather doesn't take its toll on it. I hiked with Tim, Lindsay, and Tom! Wow, I have never been in the same place with a Tim and Tom, so confusing at times! :)

Preparing the coals to cook our tinfoil dinners! I love tinfoil dinners, it just wouldn't be camping without them!Okay, you're probably wondering what in the world this picture is about, well let me tell ya! It was one of our big laughs of the trip, second in line to Lindsay's new bike shorts that she felt was "like wearing a diaper". So before driving down to Moab, Lindsay discovered she didn't have room in the cooler for the eggs and fruit. So naturally she made her own cooler! She put the eggs in a plastic bag on the bottom and she placed the fruit on top with a few ice cubes. I'm not sure how many ice cubes is a "few", I guess just enough to melt and soak an egg carton! To give her credit, she did realize the ice cubes would melt so she wrapped the bag in her towel so the water wouldn't soak her carseat. Yet, poor egg carton! Thus, Lindsay is displaying our sad egg carton!

What is this? It sadly reminds me of a big tampon, but it is the straw to my shake! Oh my strawberry shake tasted so good after a hot day hiking!

Oakley, UT July 4th, 2010 Rodeo!

July 1, 2010...Melissa, Jessica, and I enjoying the Oakley Rodeo! I rode up with Kaylee, her sister Sara, and John and met Melissa, Jenna, and Ryan in Oakley. I even bought the sweet cowgirl hat at Target before we left. I needed to fit the scene, plus I've always wanted to have one.

I always wince when they rope the calves around the necks and throw them to the ground, I guess I just have a soft heart for them! We had a great time cheering on the barrel racers, bull riders, etc.

Afterwards they celebrated with fireworks! I tried out the "fireworks" setting on my camera and was impressed, it didn't turn out too bad! :)

YSA Sizzlefest 2010 in Raft River, ID...wherever that is!

Oh I love camping...especially if you get to cram 4 girls into one little tent! We sure did! It was known among the camp as the "Princess Castle"! My singles stake left Thursday afternoon, June 24, and drove up to Raft River, ID...somewhere between Burley and Pocatello, I think! The Steadman's Place has two water slides, a zip line, large areas of grass, and lots of scurryng little mice!

We were also known as the "Princesses" for this fact. Kaylee and Amanda own pink chairs; however the funniest fact is that Jessica, Amanda's roommate, bought Amanda her chair before we left Thursday without looking at the tag. Do you see a difference in size? :)

Oh man, we laughed so hard! We were almost crying! Jessica unknowningly bought Amanda a "Junior" chair, but it worked and she used it!

Erika Johnsen played her guitar for us Thursday night. She had some really good songs that she had written! I just wish not all of them were about her ex-boyfriends and relationships! She's a hopeless romantic, aren't we all a little bit!

The Steadman's Place! The black and white waterslides are seen as well as the zip line which starts from the yellow ship like mast thing! :) We had so much fun! We played shoeless soccer, scum, and some were able to shoot clay pigeons. I was able to shoot a bow and arrow brought by my friend Shane. I wish I had pictures of that, I looked like Robin Hood. Now if only I can aim like he does!

Sizzlefest...tents, canopies, waterslides, and fun people! Friday was so hot! I reapplied my sunscreen about 6 times! It felt great to be outside, but by the end of the day we were ready for bed!

Myself, Amanda, Jessica, and Kaylee with the "River Rat" tube! The fastest tube on the waterslide! We got about 5 on this thing at one point. We just had to make sure we bailed off in time or you ran the risk of hitting the end and flopping into mud puddles. I had a few encounters in the mud puddles and ended up covered in muddy water and grass! Oh we looked so attractive!

My first zip line experience! I love it! I don't know why I've never done it before, but I know it won't be the last!

Service project...build awning! One group formed lines and moved rocks to decorate a hill on the Steadman's property, but I worked to help build the Steadman's newest awning. With 4 guys and another girl, we measured, sawed, and nailed the wood beams in place. After the side was done, my friend Shane told me to get up on the ladder and he was going to have me use the nail gun! Really? Sweet! The other guys were jealous that I got to do it!

Our creation! I nailed those wood beams across in place! We worked on it for 3 hours!

I found out Dave works for Disney! His group just finished designing the video game for the movie Toy Story 3! I also found out he can get himself and 3 other people in for free to any Disneyland theme park. My new best friend!

And no I did not participate in this! I was working on the awning, but laughed pretty hard when I saw them!

Friday night, we started to play soccer before the talent show and a storm rolled in. We ended up playing through the storm and as we walked up to the amphitheater, this was the result of how the sky looked after the storm passed! Beautiful!
