The sights of New York City!

Day 2 in NYC started out at Ground Zero, still a sacred and holy ground! Work is progressing fast with the building of the one World Trade Center building, yet there is still the feeling that something terrible once took place there. It's crazy to think it was 10 years ago! We walked around the site and then headed over to Wall Street!

Wall St...home of the New York Stock Exchange!

Emily and Bryce outside the NYSE!

During the early years, there actually was a wall built to keep the Indians out, if I remember right, and thus the street is now named Wall St. The wood blocks which once held the wall in place are still intact within the cobblestone street.
The Trump Building!
Oh man, I wish you knew what it took to get this picture! There were Asians all around the bull and we had to forcefully ask them to just step away for a few seconds so we could get a picture without them in it. That's why it's of the bulls head and just us, they weren't very considerate!
This statue sat outside the World Trade Centers for years, but during the 2001 WTC terrorist attack, it was damaged. It was then moved here to Battery Park as a memorial with an eternal flame.
Oh Lady Liberty!

Ellis Island
Neal and his girlfriend Paige! Paige and her mom were also planning to visit her grandma during the same time we were going to NYC so we planed to do the Statue of Liberty tour with them. Paige hates pictures! I love this one!
Lilian, Paige's mom, took us to an authentic Chinese place for lunch. It was great! I loved the pork dumplings! It was unlike any Chinese food I've ever had, a great experience!

Lilian Barker and my parents! I love that my dad had his hat on backwards the entire time at this restaurant!
The amazing Chinese Lion/Dragon!
After Chinatown and Little Italy, where we got gelato, pizza, and a cannoli, we took the subway up to the Bronx for a night with the Yankees and Boston Red Sox. The greatest rivalry in baseball, and we got to see it! Yet, it down poured right as we got to the stadium at 7pm and continued raining until 9:30pm. At that time, they announced the game would start at 10:30pm. Wow! A late game, yet amazing! The Red Sox were down 0-2 in the first inning, but finally at the top of the 7th, they scored 7 runs, making it 7-2. We sang "Take me out to the ballgame" and left, it was about 1:30am! We got back to the hotel around 2:15am and finally went to sleep at 2:30am. The Red Sox ended up winning 8-3!
Go Boston!
